The green jobs movement has taken the country by storm in the past year. With millions of dollars now allocated for green jobs and training, what are community leaders doing to turn those dollars into real jobs? Panelists will discuss the power of creative online-offline strategies, bridging unlikely alliances and working boldly with both the grassroots and grass-tops to leverage opportunity and access through regional, state and federal legislation.

Kate Houstoun

At the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia (SBN) Kate is leading the development of the Greater Philadelphia Green Business Council, Philadelphia’s Green Jobs Corps, and oversees the Green Economy Task Force. Prior to SBN, Kate worked in workforce development serving formerly incarcerated and homeless adults at The Doe Fund and in Mexico for the American Friends Service Committee. She is a Board Member of the Mayor's Office of Community Services and Philadelphia Green. She is a Green For All Academy fellow and was recognized last year as one of the city’s “101 Emerging Connectors.”

Bari Samad

As a strategist, technologist and communicator Bari comes to Green For All with over ten years of experience in assisting non-profit organizations to leverage information technology and the Internet to further their mission. He has grown Green For All's constituent base from 5,000 to over 85,000 in less than a year. Utilizing cutting edge tools for online to offline organizing, Web 2.0 and social media along with traditional online advocacy services, Bari works at the nexus of technology, policy and grassroots organizing and is pushing the envelope of possibilities for non-profits in the online space.

Khari Mosley

Khari Mosley, is the Director of Green Economy Initiatives for G-Tech Strategies. Most recently he was the National Political/Policy Director for the League of Young Voters/Education Fund. He also is the elected democratic chairman of Pittsburgh's 22nd Ward. Khari has received a number of awards from various organizations including: Pittsburgh Acorn, Pittsburgh Magazine, the Pittsburgh League of Women Voters, the Pittsburgh Chapter of the A. Phillip Randolph Institute and Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell. He attended Indiana University of PA where studied political-science and is a graduate of The Green For All Academy. Khari lives in Pittsburgh, with his wife Chelsa and their newborn son Thaddeus.

Stacy Ho

At Green For All, Stacy is responsible for supporting efforts at the local and regional level to win concrete program and policy changes that support the development of an inclusive green economy. She also contributes to broader policy analysis and research, and to federal and state policy advocacy efforts. Stacy has a background in public interest environmental and social justice policy and law. A graduate of Yale University and Lewis & Clark Law School, she has served as environmental policy advisor to two New Jersey governors and pro bono attorney at Bay Area Legal Aid in San Francisco.
