Academy Award® winner Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room) will for the first time show footage from his upcoming film Casino Jack And the United States of Money. The film focuses on disgraced former lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Gibney will be joined by experts discussing transparency in government and how the internet has changed the way Washington DC works. Panelists include: Roy Sekoff (Founding Editor of the Huffington Post); Michael Silberman (EchoDitto); Naomi Seligman Steiner (Deputy Director Of CREW); Jim VandeHei (co-Founder of Politico). Breakfast will be served.

Alex Gibney

Alex Gibney wrote and directed the Oscar-nominated film Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room. His most recent film, Taxi to the Dark Side (ThinkFilm) won the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2008. Gibney is now at work on directing and writing Casino Jack a film with Participant Media, Magnolia Pictures and Reason Pictures, about lobbyist Jack Abramoff and the selling of the American government. For Optimum Releasing and Thinkfilm, he is directing and producing Magic Bus, a time-travel immersion experience of Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters, on their infamous road-trip to the 1964 World's Fair.
